What is a vCard QR code?

A vCard QR code stores a digital business card in the VCF format phones use for contacts. When someone points their camera at it, the phone shows your details with an Add Contact button, so nobody has to type your name or misspell your email address.

How to create a custom vCard QR code

  1. Enter your name, job title and company, plus your company website and work email.
  2. Add phone numbers with labels such as mobile, work or fax, then extra emails, your LinkedIn profile and your WhatsApp number.
  3. Optionally add an address, a birthday, a short About Me and a profile photo for the card previews.
  4. Pick colours and a logo that match your brand, wait for Scan verified, then download the QR code or a ready-to-print business card.

Why your photo is not inside the QR code

A QR code holds at most about 3 KB, and even a tiny photo would make the pattern several times denser and harder to scan on a printed card. MeCard Plus keeps the code light and saves your full-size photo in the downloadable .vcf contact file instead.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between vCard and MeCard?

Both store contact details. vCard is the full standard used by phones and email apps and supports job titles, labeled numbers and social profiles. MeCard is a shorter format that produces a smaller code that is easier to scan.

Will a vCard QR code work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. The built-in camera on iPhone and on most Android phones recognises vCard QR codes and offers to save the contact.

Can I put my vCard QR code on a printed business card?

Yes. The Print tab produces a 3.5 by 2 inch card at 300 dpi with your QR code, or you can download the code as an SVG for your designer. Print the code at least 2 cm wide.

Can I change my details after printing?

A static vCard QR code cannot be edited after printing because the details are inside the code. Create a new code whenever your details change; it is free.
